Teacher Shir Lyn

 

Shir Lyn started dancing at a young age of 7. Starting out as a Chinese dancer, she then moved on to Modern dance and Contemporary and eventually ventured into various street dance genres such as Hip Hop, Urban and Street Jazz. She is a versatile dancer who excels in Contemporary and Jazz. Shir Lyn is also pursuing her CSTD Jazz certification and hopes to complete her Teacher’s Diploma soon.

 

Shir Lyn demonstrates strong self-motivation to achieve her high personal goals and her competition achievements are a testament to her skills and determination. Her achievements includes Champion of Super24 2012, Champion of All-Babes Cineleisure Dance Battle for two consecutive years in 2012 & 2013, 1st runner up of Super 24 2013, 1st runner up for The Royal Dance off 2014, 2nd Runner Up for The Royal Dance Off 2011.

 

Upon graduation, Shir Lyn continued her dance career in teaching and performing while studying for her degree at Murdoch University. Shir Lyn was awarded several CCAs and has trained her students to be well versed in Contemporary and Jazz. She has sent them for competitions such as Singapore Youth Festival and Super 24. They have successfully clinched a Distinction in the Singapore Youth Festival in 2015 and 2019. Over the years, Shir Lyn also took on the role of a producer, producing several successful dance productions such as Jump District: Revelation in 2016 and 2018 and Fairfield Recital in 2018 and 2020.

 

Ultimately, Shir Lyn believes in delivering a holistic dance education. She believes in nurturing young confident learners who are motivated and disciplined in striving for excellence in all aspects of their life.
